According to a report published in Football Insider, Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho might look to sign Bournemouth ace Nathan Ake to replace Jan Vertonghen whose contract is supposed to end this season.

Tottenham enjoyed a pretty decent January transfer window wherein they brought in two new midfielders and made Giovani Lo Celso’s loan move permanent.

The news is though that they are already back in the business ahead of the upcoming summer window, with Mourinho looking at bringing in a new central defender as Vertonghen replacement.

Nathon Ake was heavily linked with a Chelsea return during the January transfer window but is now reportedly Spurs’ top summer transfer target.

The Cherries didn’t want to sell him during the winter window and they reportedly value the English defender at £40million.

However, with the club flirting with relegation, it is possible that they will have to sell at the end of the season. Spurs would be keen to pip Chelsea to his signature if they do decide to sell.
