Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has vowed to start his new-look eleven against AC Milan on 2nd August, 9 days before the start of the Premier League.
There have been lots of talks about Man United’s summer re-build in the past couple of months. We have already acquired the services of Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka is expected to follow the Welshman pretty soon.
Meanwhile, United are also linked with the likes of Bruno Fernandes and at least one center-back signing before the Premier League commences, while, we might have to dip our toes in the market for the replacement of Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba, if the duo indeed make an exit.
With so many doubts and questions marks still lingering on the squad, when do we expect all of this to wrap up?
As per Ole, Manchester United’s new look starting eleven should take the pitch against AC Milan in the International Champions Cup at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on August 2.
“We’re getting close to the league then and playing against AC Milan in Cardiff is a great chance for us to put the full team out to test ourselves just before the league starts.
“We’re going to have to play our top team because we want to get into the league knowing each other and having some relationships built, so it will probably look like who will start in the first league game, maybe one or two changes.”
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer expects us to wrap up all the business and transfer deals by the end of July before the game against AC Milan. Hopefully, Ed Woodward is taking note.
Remember, we have to take on Chelsea in our first game at the Old Trafford in the Premier League. So, it’s best we are prepared as well as we can, at least as far as the ‘transfers’ are concerned.
