Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, is desperate to sell Alexis Sanchez before the end of the summer transfer window.
It’s worthwhile to note that even though the Premier League summer transfer window closed on 8th of August, the transfer window in Europe’s other major leagues, including La Liga, Serie A, and Bundesliga is still open until the 2nd of September.
The Chilean, who was out of the Manchester United’s 4-0 win over Chelsea, due to a hamstring injury he sustained during the Copa America tournament, has returned to full training at the Carrington, whilst he works towards his match fitness.
As per the reports, Manchester United vice-chairman, Ed Woodward, knows that it would be almost impossible to move the 30-year-old, given that he earns around half a million pound in wages per week at the Old Trafford.
It would be next to impossible to find a club that would be stupid enough to pay him that kind of money and that’s why the Red Devils are ready to pay a part of Sanchez’s wages in case someone is kind enough to take him off our hands.
It is said that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not a big fan of Sanchez and the gaffer would rather give an opportunity to the young Mason Greenwood and Daniel James instead of the Chilean.
Reports have also indicated that there was a confrontation between Alexis Sanchez and Mason Greenwood at the training ground a couple of days ago and, apparently, ‘angry words were exchanged’ between the pair after the Chilean was subject to ‘a heavy tackle’ from the 17-year-old, which doesn’t help the Chilean’s case at all.
Sanchez is currently behind Martial, Lingard, James, and Mata in the pecking order, and although the forward could fill in several positions upfront, it seems like the manager has made up his mind to offload him in the next few days.
