Eric Bailly is set to be handed another opportunity to prove himself as a Manchester United player according to the latest transfer reports.
The 25-year-old had a stop-start 2018-19 season where he spent most of the time out injured in the medical room, thanks to his knee injuries.
With Manchester United set for a summer clear-out, and the fact that Arsenal have shown interest in the Defender, there were speculations that the season gone by would be his last at the Old Trafford.
However, if the latest reports are to be believed, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to hand another opportunity to the Ivorian International to prove himself and try to recapture his 2016/17 form.
Is it a good decision?
Would retaining Eric Bailly be a good decision? Well, it depends!
If we go in the next campaign with Victor Lindelof, Axel Tuanzebe, Eric Bailly and a world class-signing who is good enough to slot alongside Victor Lindelof week in week out, then this decision makes sense.
There’s no doubt we still need a Centre-Back signing, someone like a Matthijs de Ligt or a Kalidou Koulibaly to start every week.
If this means we have to sell the trio of Marcos Rojo, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones, that’s just the icing on the cake.
Axel Tuanzebe has had a wonderful campaign with Aston Villa and now he’s ready to come back with us as the red devils fans demand his inclusion in the side.
The duo of Axel Tuanzebe and Eric Bailly could stay and fight for the 3rd Centre-Back spot and provide cover during the cup games etc.
There are worse defenders than Eric Bailly in this Manchester United squad and they are the ones who should be shipped off.
Giving another opportunity to the 25-year-old seems like a wise choice as long as we strengthen the defence!
