Manchester United’s 1-1 draw against Huddersfield on Sunday in the Premier League is bound to generate opinions from the pundits and critics.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side needed a win to keep their top 4 hopes alive but instead what we got was a disappointing performance from the players who don’t look like they give a damn.
Everyone is talking about the potential new signings and how United needs to overhaul its entire squad and Match Of The Day 2 pundit Jermaine Jenas gave his 2 cents on the matter.
According to Jenas, Solskjaer should get rid of all the Manchester United players barring David De Gea, Scott McTominay and Victor Lindelof:
“This current run where it’s been poor De Gea’s been within that but he’s still not a person I’d get rid of.
“McTominay, yes, he’s been reasonably consistent. I think Lindelof’s been a good player for them, even when Mourinho was there.
“The rest of them, do what you want, there needs to be a complete overhaul in my opinion.”
To be fair, David De Gea might be having a terrible run but he’s been our best player for the last 5 years. Scott McTominay has generally been impressive while everyone else alongside him in the Midfield has disappointed consistently and Victor Lindelof has been our only decent Centre-back in the heart of the defence.
But, getting rid of 20 players in one transfer window is a stupid and impossible task. There are players like Diogo Dalot and Luke Shaw who have been impressive, Marcus Rashford is still good enough to make a comeback next season and there are a couple of others who deserve to get another chance.
However, there’s no denying to the fact that we would need a bunch of new signings to compete for the trophies next season!
