Only the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi can fill an Eden Hazard shaped void at Stamford Bridge if the Belgian quits Chelsea in the summer.
Eden Hazard is said to be priority numero uno for Real Madrid with manager Zinedine Zidane said to be an admirer.
The West London outfit have no intentions of selling their star man at all, but they have been forced into a corner with Hazard’s unrelenting desire to play for Madrid and only 12 months left on his current contract.
The 28-year-old has been in superb form this campaign scoring 19 goals across all competitions and setting up another 13 which also happens to be his best his stint in a single campaign for the Blues.
Highlighting Hazard’s importance to the Chelsea setup, ex-Blues star Wayne Bridge has said:
“If Chelsea lose Hazard, I don’t know how they could replace him,” Bridge told Goal.
“I couldn’t think who they would sign because Hazard is one of the best players in the world.
“I would think only Messi or Ronaldo could replace him. I think if they do lose him, they can’t replace him.
Bridge further went on to add :
“That’s why I worry that Chelsea could struggle even more than they are doing at the moment. ”
“He has been a huge part of the club’s season with goals and assists.”
“I would love to see Hazard stay to help the club compete and he has been so good for the league, but we don’t know what will happen.” – Evening Standard
