Pep Guardiola has the smartest observation about Liverpool

Pep Guardiola isn’t known for being outspoken but in a magnanimous statement, the City manager is being humble and nice.

Some people expected United to make a dent in their cross-town rivals’ title aspirations but nothing of the sort materialized. City comfortably beat United 2-0 at Old Trafford, effectively sealing the Premier League’s destiny.

In his post match press conference, Guardiola was asked about the outcome of the league. The formalities withheld the City manager from declaring triumph. Moreover, he was willing to share the spoils:

“Liverpool and ourselves deserve the title as one. The team that is going to lose can’t have regrets because they have given everything.”

– Pep Guardiola

Not a word wrong, and something in a similar vein to what Gary Lineker said. However, it means a lot more coming from the nemesis than any pundit.
