Despite thrashing Arsenal three goals to nill, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola thinks his side played better during their loss against Manchester United, a claim which is hard to digest for most of the Red Devils.

Manchester City demolished Arsenal on Sunday with Kevin de Bruyne scoring twice at The Emirates. The Belgian nearly had his hat-trick when he hit the post.

But despite the dominant performance, Guardiola insisted that his side played better against United last weekend when they lost 2-1.

He explained:

It was a nice game and I am happy for the three points.

“We played much better at Manchester United. Much better. Come on, a blind guy can watch it. We played better.

“We need to give congratulations to the team. I think the way we played against United was a little bit better in many many things.”

Guardiola expressed that he was still happy with the result at the Etihad.
