Premier League 2019/20: Fixtures out today, but TV schedules come later

Are you waiting for Premier League’s 2019/20 season? The Premier League still has almost two months to go before it restarts. There’s anticipation in the fans of last season’s successful teams like Manchester City and Liverpool. Also, there’s a reshuffling at the bottom end of the table with the likes of Fulham relegated from league.

The Three from the Championship: Norwich City, Sheffield United and Aston Villa

Liverpool and Manchester City stole all the limelight as the season 2018-19 was coming to a close. However, there were other winners in the Championship as well. Norwich City won the Championship and earned direct promotion to the league. Sheffield United were close behind and also get to play in the Premier League 2019-20.

Aston Villa secured promotion in the play-off finals against Frank Lampard’s Derby County. The Villans are the expected to stay in the league after finally getting promotion. However, the same can’t be said about Norwich or Sheffield United.

Fixtures will be listed today by the Premier League for season 2019/20

June 13 is the designated date when the Premier League runs it’s fixture machine and churns out the match-ups for everyone. Over the course of the season 380 games are to be played.

Fans are eagerly waiting to know which teams their favourite clubs will face first. Also of interest are the local Derbies such as the London Derby, the Manchester Derby and the Merseyside Derby among others. Most importantly though, there is a new broadcaster streamer in town: Amazon. Sky and BT have not revealed when they’ll announce the fixtures selected for broadcast.

In terms of TV schedules, everything remains the same except the fact that Amazon will be streaming the Boxing Day fixtures exclusively on Prime Video. So in a few minutes, we’ll know the opening day matches. The 2019/20 season is here even before we could say goodbye to the last one.

The new season commences on August 10, 2019.
