Pundits predict Arsenal to face a stiff battle against Wolves

According to Pundits, Arsenal will face Wolves tonight in a serious clash to grab a top-four spot for the premier league battle.

Former English footballer Paul Merson predicts that the game is a banana skin for his old side, who currently sit one point behind fourth-placed Chelsea and four behind their north London rivals Tottenham in third, after Spurs’ win against Brighton & Hove Albion last night (Tuesday).

“Palace couldn’t win a game, and then they go to Arsenal at the weekend and end up scoring three times,” he said.

“You can talk about Arsenal’s team selection against Palace, but you can’t defend like they did. They could have had Diego Maradona playing up front, but you won’t win matches if you have defending like that.

“Wolves are a good side when teams have a go at them like Arsenal will. Look at the teams that Wolves have dropped points against – Huddersfield have done the double against them, Brighton sat back and got a draw, so did Newcastle.

“They have lost points against teams outside the top six because they play deep against them and they need to learn how to break that down.”

Merson has predicted a 2-2 draw in his weekly predictions feature for the Sky Sports website, while two other pundits are predicting that Wolves will defeat the Gunners.

BBC pundit Mark Lawrenson is predicting a 2-0 win for the hosts, with the former Liverpool defender also highlighting Arsenal’s defensive issues.

“Wolves were held by Brighton on Saturday, and it seems they struggle to beat teams who just sit in against them,” he said in his weekly predictions feature for the BBC website.

“That is something for Nuno Espirito Santo to sort out for next season. I don’t think it will be a problem on Wednesday because Arsenal will go at them.

“Arsenal could well end up winning the Europa League, but they have had the same problem all season: massive issues defensively, as we saw again in Sunday’s defeat by Crystal Palace.”
