Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is on a hunt to find a world-class centre back to pair with Victor Lindelof next season.
We have been linked with the likes of Raphael Varane and Kalidou Koulibaly but in the absence of the Champions League football next season, bringing either of those to the Old Trafford could be a big problem.
However, there’s another star who has been linked to us in the past and with the summer transfer window close by, the rumour mills have started to throw his name yet again into the mix. Hey, we are talking about Harry Maguire!
Maguire had a brilliant last season at Leicester City which was capped off by an incredible World Cup campaign. Jose Mourinho was interested in bringing him to Manchester United in August last year but that deal got scuppered due to whatever reasons.
A year later and we are still hunting for a centre back, so we come back to the 26-year-old Harry Maguire who is, you guessed it right, yet again having a very good season for the Foxes. The only problem is the price quoted for the centre back which has now risen to a mind-blowing £90m!
We live in a time where the market is super inflated and signing a homegrown English International requires an incredible amount of cash.
Although it’s a fact that Maguire is a solid player who would be a massive upgrade to every one of our centre back, the price quoted to complete the deal is still too damn high!
But then again, desperate times call for desperate measures, eh?
