Belgium manager Roberto Martinez has urged Romelu Lukaku to leave Manchester United this summer amidst links with Inter Milan.
Having scored 42 goals in 96 games for the Red Devils, Romelu Lukaku has already talked about his desire to play in the Serie A, preferably Inter Milan, where ‘the best manager in the world’, Antonio Conte, has taken guard:
“I’ve already taken a decision about the future but I can’t reveal it because I have a contract with Manchester United and because I respect the club”.
“I am a big fan of Serie A, who knows me is aware that I wanted to play in the Premier League and that I also want to play in Serie A.
“My agent will speak with Manchester United. I’ve already taken my decision. The club need to decide but my agent wants the best for me, I am sure it’ll be an agitated summer”.
Meanwhile, Roberto Martinez, who brought the Belgian to Everton from Chelsea during his time at the Goodison Park, has said that it would be best for the 26-year-old and Manchester United if Lukaku leaves this summer:
“It is clear that he has to leave Manchester United,” Martinez told Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws.
“It would be a good thing for both parties. It is now important that Romelu finds the right club.”
Why does Roberto Martinez need to talk about Manchester United’s business is beyond me. Not only it is unprofessional and unethical, it is plain idiotic.
However, it seems like Lukaku’s time at the Old Trafford has finally come to an end with everything pointing towards a summer exit.
Hopefully, we have identified an able replacement for the Belgian Striker and are already in talks to bring him to the Old Trafford, or else, this is not going to end well for us!
