Romelu Lukaku has strongly been linked with a transfer to Inter Milan for the past few months, however, the recent rumours of the Belgian being involved in a swap deal with Dybala that would have seen the 25-year-old join Juventus took over the Milan rumours.
But, as per the latest reports, the Lukaku-Dybala swap deal might be scuppered after Ed Woodward failed to meet the wage and contract demands of Juventus forward Paulo Dybala, even though Lukaku had agreed on the personal terms with the ‘Old Lady’.
As of now, we are back to the old Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan rumours, with Antonio Conte still remaining coy on any transfer proceedings, however, the Italian manager did admit the fact that he likes the player and would love to have him at Inter Milan:
“I honestly don’t know how it will end. I’m reading about the swap in the newspapers.
“Lukaku is a good player, a striker I tried to buy when I was the coach at Chelsea.
“We’re talking about two big clubs in Juventus and Inter, but I honestly don’t know how it will end.”
“We’re continuing to work in the best possible way. I understand there are some gaps to fill but, at the moment, I’m very hopeful.
“At the same time, I’m working with a big group of players who I’m very satisfied with.”
Romelu Lukaku has failed to feature for Manchester United in the preseason games and it’s quite evident that the Belgian’s future lies elsewhere.
With Juventus deal ‘reportedly’ no longer an option, Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan is yet again on the cards, however, any transfer dealings will have to be wrapped up quickly.
