Chelsea were given a major scare when Antonio Rudiger had to be taken off the pitch due to what looked like a knee injury on the cusp of half time against Liverpool on Sunday.
The extent of his injury is still unknown as reflected by Maurizio Sarri’s comments following the game:
“I hope nothing serious but at the moment I am unable to say anything.
“We need to get back to Cobham and have another visit with the doctor. Probably we need something else to be sure it is not serious but at the moment I am not sure.”
Ruben Loftus Cheek again could not complete the 90 minutes but he is expected to feature on the bench for the Blues against Slavia Praha.
Marcos Alonso who played no part in Chelsea’s defeat at Anfield is also set to return having played and scored the only goal in the reverse fixture.
