Mauricio Pochettino is said to be liking a lot of young footballers. He is a reported admirer of Giovani Lo Celso as well as Ryan Sessegnon. He has already signed and loaned out 18 year old Jack Clarke. There’s a trend in all the transfers Tottenham are doing: young, with high potential. If possible, with some top european league experience as in the case of NDombele.
Ryan Sessegnon will be played in multiple positions by Pochettino
Tottenham will play under Maricio Pochettino for the foreseeable future after Daniel Levy made the club’s intentions clear. The club spent a club record amount of £63 million on signing the French midfieler NDombele from Lyon. Now, Mauricio Pochettino wants Sessegnon because he thinks the upcoming English star can be played in multiple positions. He was indeed played at nine positions during Fulham’s last season in the Premier League.
Now that he’s with a Championship team, his price is likely to be knock-down as Fulham look to raise money and reduce their payroll. Pochettino can utilize at his best position which is on the left hand side, either in defence or like Gareth Bale in attack.
Tottenham Hotspur will spend what it takes
Ryan Sessegnon is only 19 year old and apparently, Manchester United may also want him so the negotiations will have to be swift.
Tottenham Hotspur have been given an ultimatum by Pochettino to either get the players he wants or lose the manager. Since he is the first and only manager to reach a Champions League final, his wishes have been granted by Levy. The club is spending big. If reports are true that Mauricio Pochettino wants Ryan Sessegnon at Spurs, he will get his man.
