Liverpool beat out Tottenham in added time and thanks to an own goal. Hugo Lloris was as much to blame for the winner as luck but sometimes that is football.
Mohamed Salah is a man who was close at hand watching it all unfold, or in this game make it happen. He obviously wanted a victory. He also believes that winning matches ugly is fine sometimes. All the big teams have to do it sometimes.
Salah went to Klopp and told him that a win like this is good as well because it helps the greater cause:
‘When I went into the dressing room, I spoke to the manager. ‘I said “it’s not always that you have to play good. The most important thing is the points. The big teams always find a way to get the points. Maybe today we didn’t play our top game but winning the game is the most important thing”. ‘We needed the win to stay in the race and we got it today.’
