Sky Sports News reported earlier this week that Solskjaer’s position as Manchester United manager was under no greater threat than it was before Pochettino left Tottenham, but he won’t have been delighted to see the Argentine’s name mentioned with the top job at Old Trafford again.

His United side are not having a good time this season, sitting closer to Norwich in 18th than they are to Chelsea in fourth, but their form over the last month at least hasn’t been so bad – beating Norwich and Brighton either side of a poor defeat at Bournemouth.

“It doesn’t bother me at all. I’ve got the best job in the world,” said Solskjaer ahead of today’s game.

“I speak with Ed Woodward and the owners all the time about how we’re going to move the club forward. That doesn’t change if some other clubs change their managers.”
