In 2017, Sir Alex Ferguson told Jamie Carragher that he believes Jurgen Klopp will be the man who will take Liverpool back on the pinnacle.
In an interview with the Telegraph, Carragher said: “I can recall the moment when I became genuinely excited about what Jurgen Klopp would bring to Liverpool.
“‘He’s got something about him. He is very confident,’ Sir Alex told me. There was a look of genuine admiration for Klopp, accompanied by that added hint of concern telling me all I needed.
“’ If Fergie is worried, this guy must be the real deal,’ I thought.”
Carragher says Ferguson revealed to him that he had a real concern about what Klopp may achieve with Liverpool and on Saturday, his fears were realised.
Klopp won his first Champions League with the Reds as they defeated their Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the finals played at the Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid.
And this summer the Reds will be looking to spend money to add more quality players to their defence and attack, to win the Premier League after missing out to Manchester City just on a points difference.
Liverpool had an incredible season in Champions League and Premier League making them one of most competitive teams under Jurgen Klopp.
