Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expecting to get a fully fit squad at the start of the new year with the likes of Eric Bailly and Diogo Dalot are supposed to be returning from their injuries.
Six major Manchester United players are currently out of the squad due to injuries, including Paul Pogba, who is the biggest name on the injury list and has missed most of the season due to the ankle injury.
Eric Bailly hasn’t played since the pre-season tour and Diogo Dalot, Timothy Fosu-Mensha, Marcos Rojo and Nemanja Matic have all spent extended time out but Solskjaer is confident he will have everyone available soon.
Giving update about the injured players, Solskjaer told the Manchester United app:
We are getting them back and, say, in 2020 we will have a strong and fit squad, definitely.
They are working hard to get back and they want to be part of this because the atmosphere in the dressing room and in the stadium on Wednesday night was special.
When you have the injured lads in amongst everyone who has played and worked, the atmosphere inside is magical. It is a magical feeling when you win games and it is so much easier to get to the next one, it is so much easier to get to work the next day and that is just how football works.
Pogba is reportedly back at the training ground this week, however, Solskjaer said he won’t be available for United’s clash against Manchester City on Saturday. Solskjaer said:
We hope to have Anthony (Martial) ready for at least spells of the game but Paul is not ready yet.
He is on the grass, training, but it is still too early to throw him out there.
Ole will be looking to continue his winning momentum against Manchester City tonight.
