Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his assistant Mike Phelan have told Ed Woodward that they need experience as well as youth in this summer transfer window.
Manchester United have been linked to a variety of young stars with the likes of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Declan Rice and Raphael Varane all been linked to the Red Devils.
However, with Ander Herrera and Antonio Valencia likely to depart this summer and doubts over the future of Alexis Sanchez, Paul Pogba and David De Gea, Manchester United are set to lose a lot of experience in the squad and that’s why Ole and Mike Phelan have asked Ed Woodward to also go for experienced players alongside youth in this transfer window.
Manchester United used to boast of leaders like Rio Ferdinand, Roy Keane, Patrice Evra, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs etc. but who do we have now?
None of the players we have now are good enough to be mentioned in the same sentence in terms of leadership qualities and Ole admits the same:
“I think you know as well that the world has changed.
“So you don’t have a Robbo, you don’t have a Roy Keane, you don’t have a Steve Bruce in our dressing room.
“We’re all different and we have a squad full of talented players.
“And leadership is so many different things and they had it in one way.”
Who do you think we should sign in the summer transfer window?
