Solskjaer approves as Dean Henderson set for Premier League loan

Manchester United Star Dean Henderson is set to become the second summer departure after Ander Herrera as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly approved his loan.

Dean Henderson has had a phenomenal season with Sheffield United where he finished second in the table and won direct promotion to the Premier League.

The 22-year-old English goalkeeper is still behind the likes of David De Gea and Sergio Romero in the first team and Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer thinks that it would be best for his development if he extends his loan at Sheffield United and continues his progression in the Premier League next season.

As per Ole:

“Let’s see what we do with Dean.

“He obviously won promotion with Sheffield United and that’s been fantastic for him.

“If he plays a year in the Premier League, for him that might be the best thing.”

There are still doubts over the future of David De Gea who is stalling on a new contract while Sergio Romero is not getting any younger at 32.

Joel Pereira is on loan at Belgian side Kortrijk while Dean Henderson is arguably our best bet for the future if he continues his development at the same rate.

What Henderson needs right now is regular minutes at the highest level and what better place to do that than stay at Sheffield United for another year and come back to us a better player next season.
