Solskjaer says some players won’t be playing for Man United next season

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has warned the players that the club just below us would be vying for the 6th spot ahead of the Red Devils next season.

The draw against Huddersfield today made sure that we won’t be playing Champions League next season whatever the result be next week and Ole has warned us in the post-match conference that United need to chase the pack ahead of us instead of looking below:

“We have to make sure that we are getting closer and moving that way up the table and not looking over the shoulders because there are big clubs, good clubs wanting to chase that top six.

“You’ve got Leicester, Everton, Watford, probably Newcastle, you’ve got clubs that want to chase us.

“We have to make sure that we are ones who chase those ahead of us.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also told Sky Sports that he isn’t afraid to cut off the players who he deems are not good enough to continue playing for our club:

“My job is to work for the club.

“I have to manage for the club, and manage the players, yes. You give people a chance, but sometimes, you’ve got to be ruthless and say: ‘Sorry but you had your chance.’

“‘I’m not afraid to do that.’”

That’s quite a ruthless statement from the gaffer but something we need right now!
