They say there’s no smoke without fire and in the case of Dani Ceballos at Real Madrid, the fire has been very much confirmed for some time now. Julien Lopetegui played the central midfielder for some time while he was the manager of Los Blancos but the player has again been deferred to the bench since the return of Zinedine Zidane.
Ceballos heavily linked to Spurs by Spanish and Italian media
Novantesimo of Italy claimed in a story that recently, there was a heated ‘discussion’ between Dani Ceballos and his manager Zidane. The report says that the French manager told his charge that he didn’t intend to play him in the Starting XI, to which Ceballos responded by saying something along the lines of “So what? I don’t want to play for you either.”
The same story has also been reported in Spanish media as well. AS are running a story titled “Zidane gets Blunt Ceballos reply in future talks”. The report goes on to provide evidence of animosity between the player by pointing to the lack of appearances for Ceballos since Zidane’s return to the Spanish capital.
Tottenham can benefit from Ceballos leaving Madrid
AS goes on to claim that several clubs are now on high alert as the former Real Betis player looks to leave Madrid in search of regular first team football. Even so, Ceballos wants to prove Zidane wrong saying he can play for any top European club if given the chance.
Maybe, Pochettino is the manager to nurture this once heralded prize of Madrid. The list of central midfielders linked with Tottenham is increasing by the day in this transfer window. We just hope at least one of these is a done deal in the near future.
