D.C. United star Luciano Acosta is interested in signing for Manchester United.
According to reports, United sent scouts to the USA to watch the 24-year-old alongside Wayne Rooney against Los Angeles FC on Saturday.
However, Luciano blew his big chance after his side succumbed to a 4-0 loss wit Rooney receiving a red card and Acosta substituted at the 73rd minute:
“I’m obviously happy [United] were here,” Acosta said via Goal. “They came to see me, and obviously I just went out and tried my best.
“Today wasn’t my day, we were up against a great opponent and in reality, I’m just sad for the group’s performance today, and mine too.”
Acosta’s contract with D.C. United runs until October 2019 and the Argentine will be free to sign for any club on a free transfer. He has provided a goal and an assist apiece in his 5 appearances in the MLS this season.
