Raheem Sterling has disclosed that he was delighted to see Liverpool through to the finals of the Champions League defeating Barcelona 4-0 on Tuesday night.
The Red’s almost seemed to be heading out of the Champions League in the semi-final after they lost 3-0 to their Spanish opponents in the first leg.
Klopp’s boys made an incredible comeback in the return fixture as Divock Origi, and Georginio Wijnaldum scored two goals in the home team’s win at the Anfield.
Liverpool will face off Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final on Saturday 1 June as the German head coach will aim to win his major trophy.
Sterling who spent his five years at Liverpool before moving to Manchester City in 2015, is delighted to see his former club reach the Champions League final.
“I was really happy for Liverpool, I was buzzing,” Sterling is quoted as saying by Metro.
“People might not believe me, but it’s true. Seeing some of the boys like Hendo and Trent in the final makes me happy; I’m really happy for them.”
Sterling has scored netted 23 goals in 47 games in all competitions for the Citizens.
