Steve Nicol feels Liverpool should make a move for James Maddison from Leicester City this summer.
Speaking in an interview with ESPN FC, Nicol said: “Klopp’s recent three in the middle of the park for Liverpool, over the last couple of years particularly, has been about gaining possession back, about closing the opposition back, about working hard and then getting the ball to the front three.
“I would love to see a little change in that with somebody like Maddison, who no question has already shown in the Premier League, from the middle of the park, he can open defences up, he can create chances.”
Maddison has been in excellent form for Leicester this season, having scored seven goals and making seven key assists in 36 Premier League fixtures.
Nicol feels that in the upcoming summer transfer window, 22-year-old Leicester City midfielder Maddison would be a great addition to Klopp’s squad at Anfield.
Its a fact that this season, Maddison has created a number of chances in the league.
In his first campaign for the club, Maddison has a total of 74 goal scoring opportunities which include 39 from the setpieces and 39 from the open play.
While Maddison needs to improve his consistency, he has the ability to be a very good player with his attacking style of play, which will surely be an advantage for him.
