Manchester United are interested in the signature of Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey, who is available for transfer according to the latest reports.
Thomas Partey has been one of the star performers of the Atletico Madrid side this season making 40 appearances in all the competitions and contributing 3 goals in the process.
The Ghanaian has been brilliant in the middle of the park and his performances hasn’t gone unnoticed in Europe with plenty of top clubs including Manchester United and Inter Milan interested in the 25-year-old’s services.
The future of Thomas Partey is still up in the air though as his agent Daniel Jimenez was recently asked about the situation of his client:
“I can’t say that right now, I haven’t talked to anyone, even if Inter are a top club.
“There’s a €50 million release clause in his contract, a figure that’s cheap for a player like Thomas.
“We’ll wait for the season to end and then we’ll see.”
Manchester United are short of the Central Midfielders and we have no choice but to sign at least one player after the departure of Ander Herrera.
We have been linked to a host of names in the transfer window including the likes of Adrien Rabiot, Declan Rice and a few others but Thomas Partey could be the best of that rumoured bunch.
We have got an ageing Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba whose future is still up in the air. Spending €50 million on the transfer of Thomas Partey seems like a no brainer.
