Tottenham Hotspur are currently scrambling in the transfer market for new players to sign. They have been linked with half a dozen players in the last week itself but the names of Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele have stood out. One current Spurs player is also part of all this transfer speculation and it’s Toby Alderweireld.
Alderweireld may not leave Tottenham this summer
Even with the new contract extension adding a £25 million release clause in his contract, Toby Alderweireld is not interested in moving out of London yet. So far there are no reports of anyone approaching Tottenham for his signature. Which is the theme around the club as even wantaway Eriksen has no suitors.
Toby’s biggest admirers until that contract extension were Manchester United but it seems the departure of Mourinho has derailed United’s intention of buying a ready made solution in defence. It may just happen that Alderweireld, as well as Eriksen may stay put for at least one more season at Spurs and the fans certainly won’t be complaining if it happens.
Toby demands the club to make reinforcements
“I played 65 games this season. Mentally it was tough. I am happy that the game against Scotland in Brussels on Tuesday is the last game of the season. After that we can finally go on vacation.”

Speaking during his stay with the Belgium National team, Alderweireld was asked about his recent season where the club went into the uncharted territory of the Champions League final. The 30 year old Belgian was quick to point out that losing the Champions League final was a big disappointment but he is planning for life in London and hopes the club makes new signings to upgrade the level of the squad.
