Tottenham are in pole position to sign Real Madrid’s disgruntled Dani Ceballos. The 22 year old central midfielder has been unable to make a role for himself under Zidane. There were reports already which detail that Zidane and Ceballos have reached an understanding that Ceballos has no role to play in the Madrid Starting XI. Ceballos believes he’s good enough for a top European side. Opening the doors for Liverpool and Tottenham. Somehow, Arsenal are also in this conversation.

20 year old player was poached by Madrid because of his promise

Dani Ceballos is a product of Real Betis’ youth system. In 2017, Madrid bought him off the Seville club. Since that move, he was a fixture in the team only for the short tenure of Julien Lopetegui. The return of Zidane saw him relegated back to the bench. This led to reports of the midfielder being sold after a heated conversation with Zidane. He has since categorically denied those comments attributed to him.

Dani Ceballos may be the next Spurs transfer target
Dani Ceballos has expressed his desire to play regular football.

However, the fact remains that his career at Madrid has reached a head and needs a release valve somewhere else to ressurect. Glimpses of his ability were visible during the U-21 Euro Championship. This is why Tottenham and Liverpool can hope to purchase Ceballos from Real Madrid.

Mauricio Pochettino has talked to Dani Ceballos

Dani Ceballos is young and has a high potential. The theme of Spurs’ transfer targets has been two words: ‘young’ and ‘high potential’. As such, he fits the bill perfectly well for the London club. But so he does for Liverpool too. This is where the charm and charisma of Mauricio Pochettino comes in. AS has reported the player has already been in a phone conversation with the manager.

This phone call will rip apart all connections so far established between the player and Liverpool. It will also magically prevent them from any future communications. Tottenham have a clear road to sign Ceballos. Only time will tell how true Spanish media reports are. Isn’t being ahead of Liverpool enough for a Spurs fan? COYS!
