Christian Eriksen has had a very successful time at Tottenham. Well, apart from winning trophies that is. After spending six years at Spurs, Eriksen wants a Real Madrid transfer. However, Real Madrid have spent enormous amounts this summer so far and may not be willing to meet Tottenham’s valuation of the midfielder.
Eden Hazard recently completed a transfer to Real Madrid worth £88 million up front with guaranteed add-ons based on performance taking the entire deal close to £130 million.
Hazard’s Madrid move has excited Daniel Levy about Eriksen transfer
Enticed by the prospect of an out of control Florentino Perez, Daniel Levy promptly has told Real Madrid that should they ‘wish’ for Eriksen, the way he ‘wishes’ about them, to pony up the same they paid for Eden Hazard. Not a lot of people will ask for the same amount for Eden Hazard and Christian Eriksen but obviously, Levy had his reasons.
You see Hazard got his much awaited move to Madrid as his contract only had one more year to run. Guess who else has only got one year on his deal? It’s Eriksen. That much similarity was enough for club President Daniel Levy to quote Real Madrid much the same price for Christian Eriksen. You’d be forgiven to think both Zidane and Perez were balking at it, as good as Eriksen is.
Also, Real Madrid must make about £265 from player sales if they wish to stay within FFP regulations. This need for a sell-out arises because Madrid are on the verge of spending around £350 million in this transfer window.
All of this crazy story is emerging out of Madrid’s own tabloids and outlets such as Diario Madridista. News reports have also indicated that it’s not Eriksen that Zidane actually wants in his midfield. Rather, it’s Zidane’s compatriot and World Champion Paul Pogba, who is in sort of a pickle at Manchester United.
