Jose Mourinho is said to be interested in signing highly-rated Fenerbahce goalkeeper Altay Bayindir and according to Fanatik, the talks are already underway.
Hugo Lloris might have returned after recovering from his elbow injury, however, the club are said to be desperately looking for a new first-team goalkeeper who could replace the 33-year-old in the long run.
Bayindir has produced some terrific numbers during his campaign at Fenerbahce after joining them last summer.
Tottenham are facing competition from Sheffield United, who are also said to be chasing the goalkeeper as a permanent replacement to their goalkeeper Dean Henderson, according to Fotospor. Fenerbahce are asking £12.5 million for the shot-stopper.
Tottenham have Paulo Gazzaniga as current back-up to Lloris. The 28-year-old has a contract until 2022 and has shown his capabilities in 17 Premier League matches this season.
Bayindir, however, has an abundance of potential.
The 21-year-old stands at 6ft 6inch. He has six caps at U21 level and has started 22 top-flight matches for Fenerbahce as they chase a European finish.
The report adds that Spurs boss Jose Mourinho has given his approval to sign Bayindir while Hertha Berlin are also said to be monitoring his progress.
