Tottenham have registered an offer of £20 million cash plus Toby Alderweireld for Zaniolo’s services to Roma.
However, according to Zaniolo’s agent Vigorelli, Tottenham will have to step up their efforts if they want to land the Italian.
“We have heard a lot about Zaniolo, Roma and his contract in recent weeks.
Given the media attention to which Nicolò was subjected at national and international level, it is important to make some clarifications”, Vigorelli told CalcioMercato.
He further went on: “Nicolò is a heritage of Roma who believed in his talent first and foremost. This is why it is essential to build together the most suitable path to enhance it and continue the extraordinary growth path also in the next season.
“To date, as far as we are concerned, no negotiations are underway with any international or Italian club “.
“Nicolò is enjoying the last days of well-deserved rest after a summer that saw him busy even in an important tournament like the European Under-21 Championship with the national team shirt.”
Zaniolo is valued around £40m by his parent club Roma and an offer in that range could tempt the Serie A side into selling one of their prized assets.
Zaniolo could be Spurs’ fourth signing of the summer after the club having already signed Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon and Jack Clarke from Leeds United with a deal for Real Madrid’s Dani Ceballos believed to be on the cards.
