Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is searching for younger, hungrier British talents in the transfer market and these two stars perfectly fit the bill.
The Red Devils endured a poor end to the season, finishing at a disappointing sixth place missing out on Champions League for next season.
And former Man United striker, Believes that it might be one of the biggest stumbling blocks in their pursuit to land world-class talent.
“It’s quite hard to get rid of more than three or four players in one window, particularly if you want something in return.
“I thought I had a better handle on United in that I believed they were a better team than they had shown under David Moyes, Louis Van Gaal and (Jose) Mourinho.
“And we saw that for a dozen games or so when Solskjaer came in but then there was a relapse.
“I still think the players are better than that but the squad obviously needs some surgery and it won’t be easy without Champions League football next season – great players want that.
“So I just don’t think it’s realistic that they’re going to be able to make 10 changes in one summer.”
The Red Devils are in a tussle with La Liga Champions Barcelona to sign Ajax skipper Matthijs De Ligt.
It was earlier believed that Camp Nou was a fixed destination for the Dutch centre half but United have flexed their financial muscle and are looking to use their fond association with De Ligt’s agent, Mino Raiola to lure the in-demand star to Old Trafford.
