Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has strongly refuted any claims of David De Gea being dropped for United’s blockbuster clash with Chelsea.
The 45- year-old launched a staunch defence of De Gea claiming that he has been the Red Devil’s standout performer for 6-7 years now and the recent mistakes don’t define the quality he possesses.
“No. Not at all,” Solskjaer said when asked if De Gea could be dropped.
“Because I trust David and he’s for me been the best player United have had last six or seven years, absolutely outstanding and going through touch patches is part of a footballer’s career and David will be fine. No worries.”
“That’s something you have to deal with as a footballer, it’s a situation,” Solskjaer said.
“David is coming in every single day doing what he should be doing.”
