Victor Lindelof provides update on Manchester United future

Victor Lindelof has reaffirmed his faith to Manchester United amidst the continuous links to Barcelona.

The 24-year-old Swedish Center-Back was one of the bright spots in an otherwise dismal season for the Red Devils last term.

The Swede’s consistently good performances in the heart of our defense didn’t go unnoticed as Lindelof’s agent, Hasan Cetinkaya, made a claim that Barcelona were interested in the services of the young Center-Back this summer.

Victor Lindelof, who joined Manchester United from Benfica in 2017 for £30million, however, has put all the rumours to rest after reaffirming his faith to the Red Devils:

“I’m very, very happy to be a Manchester United player and I’m really looking forward to this season to start and very happy here,” said Lindleof.

“That’s my answer to that.

“I always felt like a Manchester United player but last season was a better season for me, I performed better than I did in my first, pretty.

That’s as clear an answer as it gets!

There were plenty of criticisms regarding the signing of Lindelof after the 24-year-old struggled initially under Jose Mourinho, however, last season he was our best defender by a mile and a lot of the fans and pundits have acknowledged that fact:

“I’m happy that people think that [he’s the best central defender at the club].

“I’m just trying to do my best every day and that’s what I work hard for every day to help the team and the club, so yeah.”

Manchester United have completed the signings of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James, both of them young and relatively inexperienced, but Lindelof has vowed to help them integrate into the first team set-up as quickly as possible:

“Well new players, new signings, we as a team will always try to help them to settle in as quickly as possible,” said Lindelof.

“This is my third season here, I’ve been through what it is to sign for this club and get a little criticism.

“But it’s part of the game and, like I said before, everyone in the team is trying to help the new guys.”

Manchester United have been on a hunt for a world class Center-Back to pair with Victor Lindelof, and as it stands, Harry Maguire could be that player.

Hopefully, the arrival of Maguire and Wan-Bissaka in defense alongside Lindelof and Shaw would rejuvenate our back 4!
