No matter the result, Jose Mourinho coming back to his old side Manchester United was always going to be the big news as his side Tottenham clashed with Manchester United at the Old Trafford.
Jose Mourinho was sacked from the position of Manchester United manager almost a year ago and he returned to be greeted by various known faces.
Jose Mourinho had already said that he had no hard feelings for the people back at his old club and would be extremely happy to see them again. However, his interaction with David De Gea was the one which warmed everyone’s heart.
When the goalkeepers came for the warm-up ahead of the game, the two shared a hug on the Old Trafford pitch, with Sergio Romero also following suit.
The Spaniard was one of the players who enjoyed a great spell under the Portuguese manager and it was obvious that the two were visibly happy to see each other.
Mourinho was always hugely complimentary about Romero during his time at the club, using him in key Europa League and cup games, although de Gea remained his undisputed number one.
While Mourinho will insist all his focus is on getting a result to lift Tottenham closer to the Champions League places, he will have been pleased to receive such a warm welcome from two of his former players.
