Liverpool midfielder Wijnaldum scored two goals against Barcelona to take the club into the Champions League final. The midfielder has played 35 games this season and scored 3 league goals all season. As they say, it was a cometh the hour incident in the semi-final second leg.

Liverpool will face Tottenham in this year’s UCL Final to be held in Madrid. Liverpool lost the same final a year ago in Kiev and will look to cure that heartbreak. The match takes place in the Wanda Metropolitano on June 1.

Liverpool’s Georginio Wijnaldum is cautious of the Spurs team.

Liverpool will be conclude their season with the final and will hope to lift the trophy. The Reds have been a big Champions League club and are on their way to reclaim their legacy.

Cautious for the Liverpool v Tottenham final on June 1

In an interview published with Liverpool FC, Wijnaldum talks about the season as a whole, where Liverpool came a tempting distance to winning the league. Losing by only a point to Manchester City.

“It was a great year with 97 points in the league, but unfortunately, we didn’t end as champions, so that’s why we want to finish this season with a trophy.”

Now we have the chance to convert a season of dissatisfaction into one of triumph. However, the Dutch midfielder knows that Spurs will prove to be worthy foes in the final.

Liverpool may have won both the home and away games in the league against Spurs but a final is an entirely different beast. Both sets of players and staff will hope to tame it best before the final.
