Despite the fact that the then Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was in favour of selling Anthony Martial, Manchester United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has revealed that he fought hard to make sure the Frenchman stayed at the Old Trafford.
Jose Mourinho reportedly wanted to swap Anthony Martial with Ivan Perisic, however, the top echelons at the Man Utd didn’t agree with the idea of selling a younger and more promising player to bring a player who was past his best and was at the end of his career.
It’s certainly a decision that’s remained popular with the United fans and is probably the one call Woodward got right.

Though fans loved the decision to keep Martial at the club, he, unfortunately, suffered an injury this season just when it appeared as though he was gaining momentum.
Now that he is back to his best in terms of fitness, fans would be hoping he can bang few in to make sure man Utd stay in the top four contentions.
