Xabi Alonso follows in the footsteps of Gerrard

Most Reds fans stay up to date with Gerrard and his Rangers’ fortunes. It seems there will be a new addition to their managerial watchlist, as Xabi Alonso just won his first trophy as a coach.

In case you were unaware, Alonso, who made 143 appearances for Liverpool between 2004-09 is now the coach of Real Madrid U-13 squad.

The youth team managed by the Spaniard has gone on to win the league trophy at the first time of asking.

Hopefully, the league win on Wednesday will be the first of many in a long and fruitful managerial career. Here’s to hoping that he comes back and wins a league with the Reds, but Gerrard first, please!
